How long will my Monastery products last?
The products are formulated to have a shelf life of 9-12 months after opening. With the exception of the Aloe Hyaluronic Boost, which has a shelf life of 6 months. Please take care to store the products in a cool place, out of direct sunlight, this will help to get the most out of your product.
Does Monastery use salts or alcohols?
We do not use added salts or alcohols in our products. Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid) is the only salt compound in any of our products.
Are Monastery products vegan?
All products are vegan except for Flora which contains a small amount of beeswax.
Are Monastery products hypoallergenic?
We do not use any synthetic fragrances or ingredients which can be irritating to the most sensitive skin. However, please reference our product ingredient lists if you are concerned about an allergy.
Are your ingredients organic?
Our oils and ingredients come from all over the world. We always use the highest quality ingredients we can find, and buy organic ingredients whenever they are available. If we cannot find an organic option, our ingredients are almost certainly from wild harvests.
Are your products cruelty free?
Should I refrigerate my products?
You definitely can, especially if you use them slowly or like to stock up. Refrigeration will at least double their shelf life.
Do you sell a spatula for Attar?
We don't at the moment, but we hope to create one soon. We find, however, that most of our clients like to apply it directly with their clean fingers.
Do you offer smaller sizes?
Not yet, but make sure to sign up for our newsletter, Utopia, to find out about new launches.
Are your products safe for children or pregnancy.
Yes. In fact, our founder used Attar on her baby's diaper rash, gold on his acne, and XX on his cradle cap.
Can a product be modified for me?
This is getting harder and harder for us to do—but send us a note, and you might be surprised. We want everyone to experience our products and be able to enjoy them and if an allergy to a nut or etc keeps you from doing that, we want to help if and when we can.
Are essential oils safe?
Yes, but that doesn’t mean your skin will react well to them. We formulate based on the belief that the majority of people have sensitive skin, so we’ve taken serious precautions to choose the least irritative oils derived from the purest extraction methods, of the highest quality and formulate without essential oils that are known common irritants.
Do you still give facials?
Absolutely, you can find Athena at Monastery Studio in San Francisco. Athena has also personally trained her apprentices who you can also book with.
I'm on a budget, where I should start?
Start with our Rose Cleansing Oil! It’s one of our most beloved products and not only is cleansing the basis of any good skincare routine, but this one helps with everything from dryness and irritation to fine lines, acne.
Do you offer samples?
Yes, by request! Please send us an email at email@example.com with your order number and we will include your sample. At this time we can only offer samples included with orders.

Does Monastery accept returns or exchanges?
We understand that skincare can be complicated and want you to love your Monastery products. To help guide you on choosing and using the right product we encourage you to first reach out to our estheticians via firstname.lastname@example.org. Our professionals can help guide toward the best regimen for your skincare needs. We want you to feel confident in your purchase and are here to guide you through the process. With any purchase on our website, we offer samples if you are unsure.
At this time our products are final sale and not eligible for return. If you believe your product to be defective please email email@example.com. Please provide the order number, name associated with your order and what's happening. We will follow up by email with next steps.
All domestic orders ship via USPS for free. Once your order ships, tracking will be sent to the email provided.
All international orders ship DHL. Please take into consideration that our pricing does not include any additional taxes, duties or fees that be imposed upon arrival in the destination country. If incurred, these will be the customer's responsibility. Any international deliveries that are refused or returned will incur a 10% restocking fee that will be deducted from the refund.
